FOOTE’S POND WOOD is a 24-acre Morristown park a short walk from Woodside. It is an accessible park that supports a rich, diverse plant and animal community with several habitats including open water bordering on meadow and woods.  When you walk the short trails, or just take time on a bench or the dock, you will be treated to Mother Nature’s peace and beauty. Herons and egrets visit in warm weather. You can watch for turtles, listen for frogs, and begin to detect a lively wildlife community.

There are many ways you can get involved beyond enjoying this gem of a park.

ATTEND MONTHLY MEETINGS- The Friends of Foote’s Pond Wood meet at 7 pm on the second Monday of every month.

INVASIVE PLANT MANAGEMENT– An objective for the park is as nature intended, to be populated with flora and fauna native to Morris County, NJ.  Therefore, volunteers meet weekly weather permitting to remove invasive plants in the park and add to the existing natives at appropriate planting times.  All are welcome and no skills or knowledge is required.

DONATE- A contribution of any size will show that Foote’s Pond Wood is important to YOU, and will also help fund the incremental investments towards a healthier and more enjoyable ecosystem and experience for everyone.
