Trash collection:
Automated trash collection using the official GRAY cart supplied by the Township is once a week. Place trash in official cart at curbside by 6 AM on Wednesdays, except holiday weeks. Please see Notes below for further clarification. You may place the cart out at dusk on the day before collection. Remove cart by dusk after collection.
Large items are collected by appointment. Call 973-326-7398.
Recycling:
Automated recycling using the official BLUE cart supplied by the Township is once a week. Place recyclables in official cart at curbside by 5:30 AM on Wednesdays, except holiday weeks. Please see Notes below for further clarification. You may place the cart out at dusk on the day before collection. Remove the cart by dusk after collection.
Place all recyclable materials loosely into the blue automated recycling cart with or without paper bags. Please, no plastic bags.
Recycle the following:
- Paper: Newspapers/ Magazines • Junk Mail/ Office Paper • Corrugated Cardboard (breakdown) • Cereal/Cracker/Cookie Boxes • Milk/Juice/Ice Cream Containers (rinsed & clean) • Phone Books/Paperback Books • Brown Paper Bags • Paper Egg Cartons
- Plastic: Containers Coded 1, 2, & 5 (cleaned). No plastic bags
- Metal: Aluminum Cans • Steel (tin) Cans • Foil & Pie Pans (cleaned)
- Glass: Glass Bottles & Jars (cleaned with lids & caps removed)
DO NOT tie or bundle corrugated cardboard, clipboard (cereal and shoeboxes…), junk mail, magazines, or newspapers. Cardboard must be cut down to fit into the cart to allow all materials to flow freely during the collection process. Rinse all cans, bottles, cartons, and jars.
Note:
Face carts at curbside in the street with arrows towards the street. It is important to note that the arms on the automated trucks require that the two collection carts be separated by 4 feet (and that they be 4 feet from other objects as well).
Trash and recycling carts must be stored in garages.
